David C. Patterson, formerly a partner in the firm of Arter & Hadden in Columbus, Ohio, and now a partner in the mediation firm of READEY & PATTERSON, has been concentrating his practice in alternative dispute resolution since 1999.
Since that time, Mr. Patterson has served as a mediator in the areas of product liability, insurance, professional liability, employment, construction, commercial, contracts, real estate, personal injury, torts, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. His combined career as a mediator and trial lawyer spans 29 years.
Mr. Patterson is a Past President of the Columbus Bar Association and has served on the CBA's Board of Governors since 1995. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and a former member of The Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute. In addition, he is included in listings for "The Best Lawyers in America" and "Ohio Super Lawyers."
He has lectured for the Ohio CLE Institute, the Columbus Bar Association and other continuing education providers on subjects as diverse as multi-district litigation and alternate dispute resolution procedures.
Mr. Patterson obtained his BA Cum Laude in 1968 from Harvard University and his JD Magna Cum Laude in 1974 from the University of Michigan Law School. He participated in the Negotiation Workshop at the Harvard University Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers in June of 1999 and has served frequently as a mediator in Settlement Week programs for both Common Pleas Court and Federal Court.
