Background
From 1957 through 1998, Mr. Plant practiced law in New York City with Fish & Neave. Since 1998, he has been serving as a mediator, arbitrator, special master and teacher. He has served as a Special Master in U.S. district courts, as a mediator in U.S. and international disputes, and as an arbitrator in ICC, Stockholm, UNCITRAL, AAA, CPR, WIPO, court-annexed, and ad hoc arbitrations -- in more than 300 matters. He has written and spoken on ADR issues and has led courses and workshops in arbitration, mediation and negotiation for WIPO, UNITAR, Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, bar associations, University of Melbourne Law School, Franklin Pierce Law Center and other organizations. Mr. Plant is a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the College of Commercial Arbitrators, and an accredited CEDR mediator. In August, 2006, Mr. Plant received the American Bar Association Section of Distupte Resolution's "Lawyer As Problem Solver Award".
