Gary mediates all kinds of civil disputes, but most of his mediations have been in the areas of employment law, family law, and contracts. He also is an arbitrator and provides esoteric ADR services as well (non-binding advisory opinions; med-arb; early neutral evaluation).

Background
ADR is Gary's sixth career:
His first was as an academic (he was a doctoral candidate in African and Latin American history).
Then he was a community organizer.
Third he was a government employee (assistant to the Mayor of Trenton, New Jersey); Administrator of community action programs in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands for the federal Office of Economic Opportunity; and Director of Ex-Offender programs for the U.S. Department of Labor).
His fourth career was as an attorney in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
And his fifth career was a teacher/trainer: He has taught ADR at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN since 1993 and has trained ADR neutrals in the Untied States, Canada, and Panama.
He has been a mediator since 1983 and an arbitrator since 1988.
Education/Training
BA - University of Wisconsin; Certificate of African Studies - University of Wisconsin; JD - Georgetown University. Trained as a mediator in January, 1983. Subsequently he has trained mediators, arbitrators, and other ADR Neutrals in Minnesota, Illinois, Ontario, and Panamá.
