Mr. McWilliams, a Past President of the American Bar Association, has successfully mediated or arbitrated over a thousand disputes involving Associations, Partnerships, Corporations, Construction, Contracts, Employment, Insurance, Real Property, Personal Injury and Securities. He has been a frequent writer, speaker and trainer of Alternative Dispute Resolution topics for a variety of organizations, such as, the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities & Exchange Commission, the American Bar Association, state and local bar associations and other professional and industry groups. Mr. McWilliams, is President of McWILLIAMS DISPUTE RESOLUTION, INC., headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland and is a full-time mediator and arbitrator of national and international general and complex business disputes.

Background
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. McWilliams clerked for the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Court of International Trade among other U.S. and Maryland Courts. For over 20 years as a senior partner of a major Baltimore law firm his practice focused on national and international general and complex business litigation and transactions. Mr. McWilliams a former President of the American and Maryland State Bar Associations, has been an Assistant Attorney General of Maryland, General Counsel to the Maryland Department of Transportation, a member of the Maryland Industrial Development Financing Authority and Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Economic Development Corporation. He is a certified mediator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. as well as various state and federal courts and is a member of the Mediation Panel, U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Maryland. Mr. McWilliams, a Harvard trained mediator, is a former member of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section Council and the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution Panel of Distinguished Neutrals. He is a Fellow and President-Elect of the International Academy of Mediators, a Fellow and President of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a member of the National Board of Advisors for the Ohio Journal on Dispute Resolution.
