John Leo Wagner is a full-time ADR neutral with over 25 years' experience in the field. He has mediated thousands of cases. In 2008 and 2009 he was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Neutrals in the State of California. He has been included in the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions of the Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Alternative Dispute Resolution and was selected to be listed as a Southern California Super Lawyer in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He was recently selected by the Hollywood Reporter, Esq. as one of the top 32 mediation specialists for entertainment disputes.
He mediates business and commercial disputes, with broad experience in complex litigation, intellectual property diputes, entertainment matters, class actions, multi-party cases, partnership dissolution and environmental matters.
He also resolves oil and gas, professional malpractice, insurance, construction defect, breach of contract, fraud, personal injury, product liability, employment, franchise and real estate matters.

Background
John served as a United States Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of Oklahoma from 1985 to 1997. While on the bench, he developed and administered a court-annexed mediation program and was the primary settlement judge for the court.
He served on the Court Administration and Case Management Committee of the United States Judicial Conference and its ADR Task Force.
From 1998 to 2005 he was the Director of and a principal neutral for the Irell & Manella LLP ADR Center in Newport Beach, California.
He was a member of the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution/Georgetown Commission on Ethics and Standards in ADR. The CPR International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution lists him as a Distinguished Neutral on several of its panels.
John is also a Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
Education/Training
John received his B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1976 (Phi Beta Kappa) and his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1979 (Phi Beta Phi). He received Advanced Mediation training through the Federal Judicial Center and Endispute, Inc. He attended the Harvard University Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers.
He has since served as an ADR instructor and trainer for many distinguished organizations, including the International Academy of Mediators, the Federal Judicial Center, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, Pepperdine University's Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution and the American Bar Association.
Fees
$660 per hour in the State of California. $790 per hour for work outside of California and for very complex matters. No charge for non-working travel time. Please call Judicate West for detail and availability.
