Mark Travis represented public and private sector organizations in employment litigation, labor relations, and civil rights issues for over 20 years before becoming a full-time neutral. After leaving private practice, Mr. Travis served for 4 years as the Director of the Tennessee Labor-Management Center. Mr. Travis currently serves on the panels of the American Arbitration Association, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the National Mediation Board, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. A founding member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, Mr. Travis is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (Tennessee Chapter), is listed on the Employment Panel of CPR's Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, is a certified mediator with the International Mediation Institute, and is a Distinguished Fellow in the International Academy of Mediators.
Mark Travis's ADR practice specializes in the resolution of organizational and workplace disputes, by applying his years of subject matter experience as an advocate in that arena, coupled with extensive training and experience as a neutral.
Mr. Travis received his law degree from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and holds a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he also teaches employment dispute resolution. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Dispute Resolution from the Scheinman Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
