Arthur's Seat is Edinburgh's highest hill, visible for miles around. The rocky slopes and cliffs of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags are part of Holyrood Park and provide a spectacular natural backdrop to the city.
Arthurs Seat is an ancient volcano, and sits 251m above sea level giving excellent view of the city; it is also the site of a large and well-preserved fort. This is one of four hill forts dating from around 2000 years ago. With its diverse range of flora and geology it is also site of Special Scientific Interest. The Hiking guide will meet you at the Hotel and you will depart on foot on a fantastic morning hike where the guide will explain the incredible range of geology features found all over this iconic rock.
