Mr. Cerveris mediation offices are centrally located in the Los Angeles suburb of Toluca Lake, California, just north of Universal Studios where he, along with his colleague and fellow-mediator, Gig Kyriacou, has established a comfortable atmosphere particularly conducive to dispute resolution. His patience, persistence, humor and excellent communication skills have all contributed to his success and effectiveness as a mediator.

Background
Mr. Cerveris is a member of the State Bar of California and an inactive member of the State Bar of Colorado. After fifteen years as a trial attorney he became a full-time neutral in 1999 and now devotes his practice to mediating litigated disputes.
Mr. Cerveris established his own law firm in 1989 and continuously represented individuals and businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil litigation matters including business, employment, real estate, construction, entertainment, trust, probate and personal injury matters. He has served in an Of Counsel capacity for several civil litigation firms. Prior to establishing his own firm, Mr. Cerveris was associated with a business litigation firm, an entertainment law firm and also served as a Deputy Public Defender for Los Angeles County. He has extensive trial experience.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) where he co-chairs the Employment/Workplace and Courts Committees. He also serves on the Los Angeles Superior Courts Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and its Quality Assurance and Operations Sub-committees. As a frequent speaker on mediation, Mr. Cerveris has addressed audiences at Bar Associations, Law Schools, Universities, Mediation Organizations and at the Los Angeles Superior Court. He has authored several articles on the subject, including his most recent article entitled Striking An Accord published in the Los Angeles Daily Journals August 2, 2002 edition. He co-authored Increasing Your Resolution Rates, a guide for mediators serving on the Los Angeles Superior Courts Judicially Mandated Mediation panel. He also serves as a volunteer mediator with the Los Angeles County Superior Courts Judicially Mandated Mediation and Commercial Provider Programs, and with the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate Districts Panel.
Steve was honored as the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2001 from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles County Dispute Resolution Program for his services as a volunteer mediator with the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Education/Training
Mr. Cerveris graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with a major in Communication Studies in 1981. He received his law degree in 1984 from Loyola of Los Angeles Law School where he was a published author and Note & Comment Editor on Loyolas Law Review.
In addition to his fifteen years as a trial attorney, Mr. Cerveris has completed mediation training through the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Service as well as Advanced Appellate Mediation Training through the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District and through the Masters Forum at the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University. He has participated in numerous advanced mediation training courses and seminars as both participant and lecturer.

Fees
Mr. Cerveris' current fee schedule is as follows: $400.00 per hour with no minimum and no administrative fee. Billable time includes time spent reviewing mediation briefs and pre-mediation documentary evidence provided.
