Judge Susan Soussan became a mediator in 1990 and since 1995 has been a full-time mediator and arbitrator having mediated over 6,000 matters, both pre- and post-litigation. Judge Soussan has arbitrated over 200 cases, some as Chair of a panel, as the sole arbitrator or as a member of a 3-person panel. These arbitrations have ranged as high as billions of dollars in value in all facets of commercial litigation and in torts.
Susan's mediation practice has included complex commercial litigation, mass tort and high-profile cases such as Exxon Valdez v. Lloyds of London, et al.; Hayes v. Robert Courtney, Eli Lilly and Company, and Bristol-Myers Squib Company. Her business is devoted solely to mediation and arbitration of all civil, state, federal, domestic and international matters nationwide including:

Background
Until 1994, Judge Soussan was an attorney/partner in a Houston, Texas, law firm for 17 years, concentrating in business litigation. Thereafter, she was appointed by former Texas State Governor Ann Richards as a Texas State Civil District Judge in Houston, Texas.
Susan has served as faculty or speaker in innumerable ADR programs before bar associations, universities, law firms, law schools and corporations. She is a Fellow of American, Texas and Houston Bar Foundations, as well as a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.
She is also a member of the distinguished panel of Neutrals of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), together with serving on the American Arbitration Association's (AAA) Commercial, Large Complex Cases and Real Estate Panels, and Texas Mediator Credentialing Association- Credentialed Distinguished (TMCA).
Education/Training
Judge Susan Soussan is a graduate of University of Texas, B.A. with Honors, 1974; New York University in Spain; University of Houston, J.D., 1977; Order of the Barons.
Judge Soussan is proficient in the Spanish language.
